Chappell Hill Lavender and Wine Festival is held every year, in August. This year Chappell Hill Lavender and Wine Festival is on Saturday, August 10, 2013. The festival begins at 9:00 a.m. and continues to 3:00 p.m. Admissions are free. What could be better than beautiful lavender in the fields and Windy Winery wine? It is a fun festival with music, as you enjoy tastings, cutting of the lavender in the fields, crafts, vendors, as well as the demonstrations.
Chappell Hill Lavender Farm is located at 2250 Dillard Road, Brenham, Texas. During the festival you may walk among 3,000 varieties of lavender plants and enjoy the charm of a working lavender farm. Cut your own lavender, then relax with a cold glass of lavender lemonade or lavender tea! Of all of the herbs, lavender is on of the most fragrant and known for its soothing and relaxing qualities. Make sure you go in to the gift shop. You will find bath and body products, handmade pillows, culinary lavender, fine linens, pottery, lavender teas and coffees.
Next stop is Windy Winery as August and Linda are having their Harvest Festival! Located at 4232 Clover Road, Brenham, Texas. Wine Stomp event is $25.00. There will be hayrides out to the vineyard to pick the grapes. Participate in the grape stomping and put your purple feet on a t-shirt to commemorate the day! It is always great fun, not to mention the sampling of wines doesn’t hurt at all! Make sure you get on the Windy Winery email list while you are there. They have different food events with live music. Our guests at Brenham House Bed and Breakfast really enjoy attending the chili cook offs, steak dinners, as well as the other meals they prepare out at the winery, which compliments their wines.
