There are many different kinds to choose from.  While looking for a bed and breakfasts you will find them in different locations.  You will find them in big cities, small towns, as well as out of the way places.  You will find large ones with many rooms and smaller ones with 2-6 rooms.  All of the homes used for bed and breakfasts are different therefore it makes them much more interesting.  Less like a hotel.  It depends on what you are looking in a place to stay.  Ask yourself if you want to cook your own breakfast, eat at a restaurant or have a hot breakfast served to you?

You will find two types of bed and breakfasts.  Traditional and un hosted bed and breakfasts.  Traditional bed and breakfast the innkeepers will be around to help give you information about the area.  Innkeepers prepare delightful breakfasts for guests.  Innkeepers change out bath towels as needed, and will be available for anything you may need. An un hosted bed and breakfast the innkeeper will not be around.  You will need to prepare your own breakfast.  It just all depends on what you are looking for in a great stay.

The first course is a seasonal fruit course, the second course is an egg entree, meat, potato side or grits, a vegetable like asparagus, avocado, or tomato salad, and a biscuit or scone.  In additions there is a dessert third course.   Dessert may be pancakes with raspberry reduction, cobbler with Blue Bell sweet cream, bread pudding with a brandy cream, or French Toast with homemade praline sauce.  James and Susan will delight you with their 22 years of cooking breakfast for the public!

Brenham House Bed and Breakfast has three rooms and two spacious suites to choose from.  Bedrooms have either king, queen, or twin beds, all with private baths and are decorated with the guests’ comfort in mind.  There is a peacefulness about the house and throughout the cottage gardens that surround the historic home.  James and Susan Lopez are the innkeepers of Brenham House Bed and Breakfast.  They will work hard to give you a great stay!

Christmas Stroll Lighted Parade 2015

Christmas Parade in Downtown Brenham

It is a festive time of the year in downtown Brenham as it presents it’s Christmas Stroll Lighted Parade 2015.  It will be held the weekend of December 4-5, 2015.  What a great time to shop for those special people in your lives in an easy small town environment.  You can stroll through the beautifully lighted streets of downtown Brenham and enjoy shopping as the stores will all be open late for your shopping convenience.  There will be a giant snow slide for the the kids to enjoy and other fun things through out the day.  The lighted parade is really something to see.  The Lighted Parade will be on Saturday at 6:00 pm.  All of the gorgeous floats will be lighted and there will be carols sung as they go by.  It will be great fun for the whole family and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!  Bring a friend or the one you love for a great weekend in Brenham.  For more information you can call 979 337-7384 or go online to downtownbrenham.com

Don’t forget to check out the Jingle Bell Market that will be once again held at the Ant Street Inn.  The ballroom will be filled with arts and crafts, handmade and rare items. Jingle Bell Market will be open Friday, December 4, from 10:00am-9:00pm and on Saturday December 5, from 10:00 am- 5:00 pm.  Admission and parking is free.  Ant Street Inn is located on 107 Commerce Street.
