This weekend, July 22-24, 2016, here is what is happening in Brenham Texas.  Our beautiful Barnhill Center at the Simon Theatre is one of our newly renovated Centers for entertainment and old movies.  Playing this Friday, July 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. is “Field of Dreams”.  Tickets are $12.50 each.

Hot Nights Cool Tunes will present The Grooves on July 23, 2016 Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.  It takes place in the downtown on Alamo Street.  It is a free concert.  Bring your lawn chairs or just walk around.  This is an awesome band with a variety of music.  Dance or sing along with The Grooves!

Plan July Brenham Trip and include time to hang out at the Home Sweet Farm Market and Biergarten.  This Friday July 22, 2016 at 8:30 p.m. Home Sweet Farm Market and Biergarten will present the Anthony Moreno Band and Saturday July 23 2016 the Steven Marshall Band.  There is no cover charge.  On Saturday 6-9 p.m. there will be crafted burgers and fries for sale from 6-9 p.m.  Home Sweet Farm Market and Biergarten has a large selection of beers and wines for you to purchase and enjoy during the concerts.

Plan July Brenham Trip by adding an event you won’t want to miss.  Saturday evening’s Windy Winery’s Steak Dinner!  Our guest who attend this event rave about it to everyone at the breakfast table on Sunday mornings!  Saturday July 23, 2016 Windy Winery will host their famous Steak Dinner!  You grill your own steak the way you like it and they provide the Ribeye steak, Salad, Baked Potato, Corn on the Cob, and Peach Cobbler.  $55.00 per couple and it includes one bottle of wine.  You must RSVP!

Plan July Brenham Trip but don’t forget our other wineries.  Saddlehorn Winery on Saturdays will serve fire oven pizza from 11-6:00 p.m along with wine tastings.  Pleasant Hill winery will have a wine stomp, tastings and tours on the weekend of July 22-24, 2016.  Texas Star Winery will be open on the the weekends from 11-6p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11-5p.m on Sunday.

The Simon Theatre Comes Alive!

Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre is one of Brenham’s most recent renovations for its’ downtown.  All by donations this beautiful historic theatre has been brought back to life with all original architecture and design.Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre is located at 111 W. Main Street, Brenham, Texas.  It is now ready for wedding receptions, and the old vaudeville theatre is ready to present to you a series of old movies and concerts.  These old movies will be presented on the hugh screen in a glorious setting.  Ticket cost is $10.00. plus handling fee and tax.  Go online www.TheBarnhillCenter.com for more information.

Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre Matinee May Begins with “Red River”.  This will be the first John Wayne movie since the restoration of the Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre.  It will show on Sunday, May 1 at 4:00 p.m.  Doors open at 3:00pm

“The Sound Of Music” will show at Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre on Sunday, May 8 at 4:00 pm  The Rodgers and Hammerstein score includes “Climb Every Mountain”, “Do-Re-Me”, and “My Favorite Things”.  Base on a true story, this all-time great moneymaker and winner of 5 Academy Awards  has been acclaimed an American classic.  What a great Mother’s Day gift for the whole family!  Make sure to buy mom some popcorn and her favorite drink!

Friday, May 13, at 7:00 pm Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theratre presents “Pretty Woman”.  A 1990 American romantic comedy film staring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.  It is one everyone wants to see again and again.

“Citizen Kane” will show on May 15, as the Matinee May continues at Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre. This show is about a reporter who is assigned to decipher newspaper magnate Charles Foster Kane’s (Orson Wells) dying words, his investigation gradually reveals the facinating portrait of a complex man who rose from obsurity to staggering heights.

Sunday May 22, at 4:00pm Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre will presents “Wizzard of Oz”.  You will again see Dorothy, and her dog Toto as they are whisked off into the magical land of Oz.  Here they will meet the Tin Man, Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion on their adventure down yellow brick road.

Barnhill Center Historic Simon Theatre will have a grand fanally for May presenting Ray Willie Hubbard on Friday May 27.  Concert will begin at 8:00 pm  Ticket price for this event will be $25.00, handling and sales tax.  Doors open at 6:00 pm and there will be a Q&A before the concert at 7:00pm
