Great News for Blue Bell Ice Cream Lovers

July 21st, 2017 by Susan Lopez

 Blue Bell Ice Cream

Blue Bell Ice Cream Brenham, Texas

Great news for Blue Bell Ice Cream lovers.  The new observation deck at the creameries just opened.  Tours had previously been cancelled.  Blue Bell has been working so hard to get your favorite flavors of ice cream distributed back into stores.  After a growing interest in the Blue Bell Ice Cream tours they have now opened the new observation deck.  It allows you to once again see the production and packaging of the ice cream, on the assembly line.  Also now you get to see the inside of a distribution truck. Check out how it is loaded for deliveries which go out to 19 states.

Did you know the Blue Bell workers rotate to different stations throughout the shift.  That way all of the workers learn each area and they don’t get bored. It probably cuts down on workers feeling like someone else got a better job!  Smart thinking on the management’s part.  Every time I have talked to a worker for Blue Bell I have only heard how much they like working for the company.  That is really good publicity for the company.  Of course I’m sure breaks are fun when it involves Blue Bell Ice Cream!

Guest Approved Pineapple Bars

August 30th, 2014 by Susan Lopez

Guest approved Pineapple Bars are a favorite at Brenham House Bed and Breakfast for dessert.  It is the most requested recipe and for this reason I knew I had to add it to my blog.  It is a cake but is so rich and I usually cut the size of a bar cookie to serve.  For this reason I call them Pineapple Bars!  This is a great go to recipe when you need something for a pot luck dinner or if you are having friends over for coffee and dessert.  It is easy to make and there is never anything left to bring home.

Guest Approved Pineapple Bars

Can’t you just taste it?

Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical

Unity Theratre presents Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical

Nuncrackers: Nunsense Christmas Musical is Unity Theatre‘s Christmas production for this 2013 Christmas season.  The dates for Nuncrackers: Nunsense Christmas Musical are December 5-22, 2013.  Nuncrackers: Nunsense Christmas Musical runs for 3 weeks and 12 shows starting on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., and Sundays performances are at 4:00 p.m.  Tickets are $30.00.  Preview night is Thursday, December 5, 2013 and tickets for that performance will be $17.00.

Nuncrackers: Nunsense Christmas Musical was written by Dan Goggin.  This production will be directed by Jonathan McVay.   This will be a wonderful show you won’t want to miss.  Christmas time is Nunsense time in this uproaringly funny sequel.  It’s the perfect way to ensure your holiday season is merry and bright!  The first “TV Special” is being taped by the sisters in their convent basement studio for Cable Access.  It stars the nuns we are familiar with plus Father Virgil and some of Mt. Saint Helen’s most talented students. It features all new songs including:  Twelve Days to Christmas, Santa Ain’t Comin’ To Our House, We Three Kings of Orient Are Us,  and It’s Better to Give Than To Reiceve.  This musical is filled with Nunsense humor; an uproaringly funny spoof of Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Ballet.  There are zany renditions of classic Christmas carols: a send-up if The Village People; and a Catholic home shopping network.

The Christmas Holidays can be very busy with all of the parties and shopping that must be done.  Take time to slow down and enjoy Brenham, Texas and all that is has to offer!  Book your room at Brenham House Bed and Breakfast.   Then head over to Unity Theatre located at 300 Church Street, Brenham, Texas to see Nuncrackers: Nunsense Christmas Musical.  What a perfect way to ensure your holiday season is merry and bright!

October 27th, 2013 by Susan Lopez

Baked Deviled Eggs are a favorite at Brenham House Bed and Breakfast.  We always serve a egg dish as part of our breakfast.  Eggs overall tend to be pretty bland unless you can dress them up.  Baked Deviled Eggs are better the more items you add to them.
