Gluten Free Accommodations

June 10th, 2015 by Susan Lopez

We love operating the Brenham House Bed and Breakfast!  Both of us have over 20 years experience, in the food service industry.  As a result you learn to accommodate everyone.  We certainly don’t want to miss a booking because of a dietary restriction.  As a guest at the Brenham House Bed and Breakfast you are served a full gourmet breakfast each morning.  We have great gluten free accommodations, too.  We try to handle all food allergies as well.  Even if you are not celiac, but you are gluten sensitive we have you covered.  We can accommodate guests who are diabetic, low salt, lactose intolerant, allergic to nuts, or MSG, soy, cinnamon, ginger, grapefruit, and onion.  We have a large selection of recipes that we can use.  We only ask that you let us know, well in advance.  We plan our menus and do our grocery shopping before you arrive.  Some food preparation are also done before you arrive.  It is our practice to always ask, if you are booking by phone, if there are any dietary restrictions.  If you are booking online there is a space where you can type in anything you want to tell us.  Also, remember if you are booking for a group to please ask your friends if they have something they cannot eat, just in case you aren’t aware of any allergies.  Then let us know as soon as you find out.

This is just one sample menu of a gluten free accommodation.  We are very careful not to cross contaminate in our kitchen.  Gluten free accommodations are really very easy to handle, on our breakfasts.  We always use products that are MSG free, and always look for gluten that may be lurking in products.  All of the spices we use in our breakfasts are gluten free.  It is hard to find great places to dine when eating gluten free, but Brenham House has gluten free accommodations just for you!

Bacon Egg Toast Cups

Bacon egg toast cups can make breakfast enjoyable.   Breakfast menus need to be creative and different each morning, not to become boring.  It takes effort to set the table and make it look pretty.  Why save the good dishes that will be passed down to your children, after you are gone.  Use it and enjoy it now.  That can be done the night before.  It is so easy to get caught up with the fast pace breakfast eaten in the car as you dash off to work.  Breakfast sets the tone for the morning.  You can also prep many of your food items the night before which will allow for a quick breakfast .

Breakfast Table

Our guests, at Brenham House Bed and Breakfast enjoy our sulphite free bacon egg toast cups.  We pre cook our bacon, in the oven, until it is about 90 percent cooked.  Drain and wrap and put in the freezer.  Then the night before we need it we pull out the amount of bacon for the next morning and place in the refrigerator.  We also prep the bread for our bacon egg toast cups the day before and place in the refrigerator.

Simply take the bread and cut the crust off.  Then roll it out with a rolling pin.  Place in the muffin tin.  Then place a piece of precooked bacon in the cups.  Break a egg into each cup.  Salt and pepper each egg.  Then place in a preheated 375 degree oven for 25 minutes.  Pull out of the oven and place on a plate with roasted asparagus, and a side of potatoes.
