We love the antique roses at The Antique Rose Emporium.  They are easy to grow and just give your yard such beauty.  We have guests who buy different ones for each of their grand children.  Imagine the kids as they grow up knowing there is a rose bush in Grandma’s yard in honor of them!  What an honor it was for my husband to get three rose bushes from his high school coach’s rose bed after he passed away, a few years ago.  All of the football players took rose bushes, Festival of Roses and it is such a great memory of Coach “Pappy’ Drennen.

Friday, October 31, 2014 will start at 10:00 AM and will begin with Mike Shoup and The Texas Rose Rustler who will speak on “Rooting Made Easy”.  At 12:30 PM Robbi Will will talk about “This Bulb’s for You” and at 2:00 PM Margaret Cherry and Abbott-Ipco covering “Give Me Color and Make It Perennial”.

Saturday, November 1, 2014 starts up again at 10:00 AM with Pam Smith sharing “On the Trail of Trailed Roses”, 11:30 AM Dr. David Byrne will discuss “Rose Rosette Disease”, 1:30 PM Neil Sperry will talk of :Lone Star Gardening” and the last lecture will be lead by Randy Shoup on “Beer, Where Microbes Rule”.

Sunday, November 2, 2014 raps up The Antique Rose Emporium’s Rose Festival at 1:00 PM with Mike Shoup sharing the Growing Fields Tour.

The Antique Rose Emporium is located at 9300 Lueckemeyer Road, in Brenham, Texas.  It is not far from Brenham House and it is a delightful treat for everyone who love plants and gardening.  Built on an early settler’s homestead, this nationally renowned 8 acre garden features hundreds of romantic antique roses, herbs, wildflowers, old-fashioned perennials, and native plants that are so beautiful to admire.  Each site contains herb gardens, cottage gardens, and many perennial borders.

Antique Rose Emporium has wonderful walking paths among all of the beautiful plants. So purchase something to take home, that you will enjoy for years.  It is interesting how magical plants can be when added to your yard.  There is also a large selection of garden accessories and gifts, in the gift shop.

Antique Rose Emporium host events and have seasonal demonstrations.  The workers are very knowledgable and can help you with any garden questions you might have or information on bugs that might bother you.  It is a great place to bring your cameras and take pictures because the backdrop is so spectacular!  They also allow weddings at Antique Rose Emporium and I can’t think of a more beautiful place to have a wedding.
